A video of 30 seconds to 3 minutes, uploaded from the browser. Captions are generated. Only you can play it until it is published. A PDF deck is optional.
Review and submit
Read the summary, accept the terms, tick or leave the social-clips box, and send that exact version for a human check. The decision appears on your dashboard.
Publish
Approved means you choose the moment. Then answers, scores and questions arrive on your dashboard — no averages until 10 people have answered.
What you get back
- A reaction from every qualified viewer, on one scale: not yet, partly, mostly, yes.
- Optional scores on the pitch itself — the problem, the solution, the evidence and the differentiation — shown only once enough people have rated.
- Comments and questions from signed-in viewers.
- Views, counted only once someone has actually started watching.
Limits worth knowing
- Videos run from 30 seconds to 3 minutes.
- Up to three drafts per startup at a time.
- Five upload attempts per day.
- Decks are PDF only, 1 to 40 pages, up to 25 MB.
What happens to your video.
The short version, in the same words as the terms you will be asked to accept.
- You choose the moment it goes live
- A person checks the version against three rules — within 3 minutes, your own work, a pitch — and approves or returns it. Nothing about the idea is judged. Approved means you publish when you like, not that it is published for you.
- No numbers until 10 people answer
- Below that you see responses arriving and nothing else. What appears then is not a grade: nothing ranks you against another founder, and no average follows your startup from one version to the next.
- Only you can watch the preview
- Until you publish, the video plays from your account and nowhere else.
- Your contact moves only when you say so
- An email address or a booking link, released to one person when you accept their request to connect. Never on a public page, never handed out for watching.
- Social clips are off until you tick the box
- Each version has its own box, empty by default. Tick it and that version may appear on our social accounts; leave it and it never does. Your deck never appears anywhere but your pitch page.
- 3 ways to appear
- A profile page with your role, location and links. Your name only. Or the startup name, with no name of yours attached at all.
- A published version is frozen
- Once live, that version’s video, text and deck cannot be edited. To change anything you publish version 2, which starts its answers from zero; version 1 keeps its own.
A few things worth knowing.
Can I watch without an account?
Yes. Anyone can watch a published pitch. To answer, score or comment you sign in, and the answer button stays locked until you have watched 45 seconds — or half of a shorter pitch. Seeking and background tabs do not count.
When can I see the community ratings?
After two things have happened: you have answered, and 10 people have answered independently. Below 10 you see that answers are arriving and nothing else. The one-question split and the 1–5 scores unlock separately, each at its own 10.
How long should a pitch be?
Between 30 seconds and 3 minutes. Under two minutes lands best: the problem, one thing already working, and what you want from the viewer.
Who reviews a pitch before it goes live?
One person on the Pitch Room team, by hand, against three checks: it is within 3 minutes, it is your own work, and it is a pitch. The idea itself is not judged. Approval is for that exact version — change the video, text or deck and it goes back in the queue.
Can I change my pitch after publishing?
Yes, as version 2. Version 1 stays exactly as it was, with its answers. Each version collects its own answers from zero, and your startup page shows the history.
Can I remove my pitch or my account?
A draft can be archived at any time. Account deletion is requested from settings: your public profile disappears immediately, and a person completes the removal by hand.
What does the launch list collect?
Your email, which list you joined — watching, pitching, or private rooms — and the consent you gave. You get a private link to leave the list. Nothing is sent automatically.
